Duties & Responsibilities
Although we CURRENTLY MAY NOT HAVE an OPEN POSITION, we are accepting applications.  Within the specific legal Division, duties include(depending on the Division), but are not limited to; providing administrative, transactional, litigation & research support to attorneys; including,but not limited to:researching/drafting legal documents; preparing discovery pleadings & answers to pleadings, filing other legal documents & court papers; reviewing petitions to evaluate the need for departmental involvement in cases; assisting with investigations by obtaining additional information of evidence from clients and witnesses; serving as communication liaison between the division and respondents, attorneys, courts and clients; preparing cases for hearings by organizing files, interviewing and subpoenaing witnesses, and preparing evidence exhibits; performing legal research, including analyzing rules, regulations, case law, and statutory law; maintaining records on the status & deadlines associated with div. cases; attending/assisting attorney with hearings & client meetings. 

Minimum Training & Experience
Minimum Qualifications: A Paralegal Certificate which includes a minimum of 60 semester hours, or its equivalent, at a postsecondary level of education (e.g. Associates in Paralegal Studies); OR A minimum of 60 semester hours, or its equivalent, of college credits from an accredited college or university AND a paralegal diploma/certificate AND two (2) years of paralegal experience; OR A minimum 60 semester hours, or its equivalent, of college credits from an accredited college or university AND four (4) years of paralegal experience. The paralegal program's coursework and total credit hours must be closely related to those recommended by the American Bar Association (ABA). Ability to type. Preferred Qualifications: ABA Paralegal Certification and paralegal experience.

A criminal background check is completed on all candidates; employment is also contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of the background investigation. Salary is commensurate with experience.  For persons meeting the minimum requirements of the job, their application package will be retained for a period of 6 months.
