Duties & Responsibilities
Position is considered TIME LIMITED and funding may end June 30, 2014. The primary focus of this position will include civil and administrative litigation related to the Professional Standards Commission (which regulates teacher licenses and involves, among other things, administrative and civil action related to the CRCT cheating scandal). It is possible that the position may also include providing these services for other state clients including the State Department of Education and institutions of the Boards of Regents; election matters (often involving alleged violations of Georgia’s election laws by citizens and officials as well as defense of some of those laws); the State Campaign Finance Commission (involving the administrative prosecution of officials); local government matters; defense of judges in civil suits; and open government matters.
Minimum Training & Experience
Member of the Georgia Bar AND graduation from an accredited law school.
Position is considered TIME-LIMITED and funding may end June 30, 2014. A criminal background check is completed on all candidates; employment is also contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of the background investigation.
