Duties & Responsibilities
This position provides legal secretarial support to the section's attorneys. Duties include typing, editing and formatting correspondence, briefs, pleadings, forms, agreements, and administrative orders from handwritten notes, dictation or typed documents; filing pleadings and other legal documents as requested; answering the telephone; responding to calls from clients, attorneys, and citizens; and providing general information or transferring calls as appropriate; preparing, copying, and faxing, mailing or emailing legal documents and correspondence; docketing pleadings and distributing mail; preparing control slips for new files; entering time worked for all personnel to the computer; maintaining electronic library; making travel arrangements for the section; maintaining an adequate inventory of office supplies; attending meetings as required. closes files and coordinates the removal of closed files; maintaining files for the section; performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Training & Experience
One year of experience as a legal secretary. Strong typing skills.
