Stephanie Gill, the co-defendant in a Jeff Davis County Medicaid Fraud case, pled guilty on September 12, 2011, in Jeff Davis County Superior Court to two misdemeanor counts of Theft by Taking (O.C.G.A. § 16-8-2). Between October 2006 and September 2009, Gill conspired with Robert W. DeHaven to falsely bill Medicaid for services that were not rendered.
Judge E.M. Wilkes, III, sentenced Gill to two years, to be served on probation. Additionally, she was ordered to pay a $1,000.00 fine and restitution in the amount of $1,000.00.
On August 26, 2011, co-defendant DeHaven, an individual and family mental health and substance abuse counselor and owner of DeHaven Healthcare, Inc., pled to guilty to one count of Medicaid Fraud (O.C.G.A. § 49-4-146.1(b)) for collecting Medicaid reimbursements for counseling services which he did not perform. He was sentenced to 10 years, two to serve and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $270,295.00.
